Reflection...Fuck it!!

The end of a year is typically the time for looking back, and since this is the end of the first decade of a new century the world is currently vomitastic with resolutions and reflections. I don't know maybe I am feeling more cynical than normal but since (sorry mom) I was 17 January 1st hasn't meant anymore than a slightly worse hangover than say June 21st. There is no cosmic slate being wiped clean and Raptor Jesus isn't granting you a do over. If you are unhappy with your life in August; fucking change it in August!!

Compared to some my 2009 has been great, everyone I love is alive and healthy. My husband and I recently celebrated 10 years together and our fifth wedding anniversary; plus Jim and Pam got married! Yes, I have had some superb lows this year, most notably a hardcore betrayal from someone I've considered a best friend for 14 years; but fuck it! Things could have been worse!

Like for example when I was a teenager I went to a psychic, she told me I was going to die before I was 28. Now granted this was a Daytona Beach A1A psychic; generally not a real credible source of anything other than where to score some meth, however someone predicts your death you kinda sit up and notice. So when this September rolled around and I was still very much alive I realized things could suck worse than a horrible friend or ER being canceled. See reflection isn't reserved for Dec. 31st!

P.S. I do have one New Years Resolution: To learn when a semi colon is appropriate; I suspect I never use it correctly.

Yeeahh it's another music post!

I get bored with music super fast.  I think it may have something to do with the fact I get obsessed with something and listen to it nonstop..who knows. So I am constantly looking for something new and exciting, and by new, I mean new to me.

Thanks to Zooey Deschanel's announcement that She&Him has a new album coming out 3/23/10, I wanted pretty songs that in my own mind kinda fit with She&Him .  So my playlist ended up as:

1. She&Him  - Why do you let me stay here:

2. Rilo Kily- Breakin UP (one of the best videos I have seen):

3. Katy Perry-Black and Gold:

4. Death Cab for Cutie- Love Song:

5.Jem-Yellow:

6. Zooey Deschanel- Sugar Town (yes its better than Ms. Nancy Sinatra's version):

7. Jenny Lewis- Rabbit Fur Coat:

This next one is literally my favorite song.  Its been covered a ton but She&Him srsly do the best cover I have ever heard.  This was the first song I listened to on the Volume One album, I  loved it!

8. She&Him-You Really Got a Hold On Me:

I am totally counting down the days till the new She&Him album. Is it March yet!?!?!?

I love you all...

...but next year I absolutely REFUSE to attempt to spread the one and only thing the super darling love of my life tells me he wants for his Birthday , Christmas AND Hanukkah between 12 people.  This year its Brutal Legend for the PS3.  If you are reading this just assume someone else is getting it... Rawrg!

Granted at this point in time I have no clue what next years request will be, but just do me a god damn favor and if you didn't play an active role in either his or my birth just don't ask, give him a gift card.  Best Buy works, or even better make it a Visa/Amex gift card.

I for real love this man, and all his saltiness is; but if he answers the question "what should I tell ....to get you for hanukkah?" with "a million dollars and a hooker."  My next post will be straight from Sing Sing.

Aqua Seafoam Shame!

Today I discovered that I have more Britney than Nirvana on my ipod!  Don't get me wrong  I'll totally defend my Britney love until..well I get bored, or you bring up Radiohead, then you're an asshole and I hate you. But since Drop Dead Live my top three have been Lunachicks, Nirvana, and Green Day!

Ipod politics and etiquette elude me, so answer these toughies: If I have more Green Day than Britney, and even less Lunachicks than Nirvana does this make my new top three Green Day, Britney, and  JayZ? Two of my three faves aren't together anymore, so do I need to start bumping? Cause uhhh Bikini Kill may have been on Rock Band but they are soooo not together, so I think that rules them and 7 Year Bitch out.

Which begs another way scarier question: Am I too old for todays music? Despite the fact I've been to a lot of concerts this year...best so far Rise Against at House of Blues in Otown, a band like Tokyo Hotel makes me gag. You know what, before my 28 year old self (who still gets carded for videogames) gets all nutzo, I'm going to stop and dedicate this moment of self doubt to Yoko Ono. Yeah THAT Yoko.

I heard this "song" on Howard Stern.  I want to take this second to go on record as saying "FUCK YOU YOKO ONO!!!!"  I am absolutely refusing to embed it directly. Be cause its so terribad I kinda want to kill myself for (indirectly) exposing my six awesome readers to the toxin. Really, is there something I'm not getting here? Everytime her name pops up I'm all: why is she famous? In my super uncool kingdom of Loserville she's the original Paris Hilton. Famous by injection.  Am I just not hip enough; explain?

EDIT(20 secs after posting):
Wait I have the most Rise Against than anything!!!
But for funzies Mc Frontalot, whom I love:

Nerdy Girl's Titanic!

I am hardcore into Dragon Age Origins, it is an amazing game.  I am currently playing an elven mage called Inara, btw I chose that name cause Firefly is le awesome.

Basically there is an ultimate evil called the Blight threatening your homeland of Ferelden.  Like, of course you are the only one who can stop this. So you set out as one of the last of the Grey Wardens; you amass a party, allies and blah blah who cares.... I am hooked because of the Romeo and Julietesque storyline I inadvertantly started:

The first party member you get is Alistair, he is a super sarcastic and funny guy.  He is totally pictured on the right in the midst of a hardcore moment with Inara.  Alistair totally beats Dear Daniel as one of the best characters I've encountered in my hella limited gaming career, which consists of WoW, Hello Kitty Big City Dreams and now Dragon Age.  Whenever I got stuck, rather than hitting gamefaqs I talked to Alistair because his sarcastic dialogue is actually really funny. Srsly though my mad people skills started him liking me! Like, like, liking me!  I  initially rolled my eyes at this turn of events. Then that old ass bitch Wynne was all blargh!  You're a Grey Warden break up cause you're selfish. I am not even going to lie, the second she said that something in me snapped!  I was all NO! They love each other and I'm going to make sure this happens!

I rode this whole rebellious love will conquer all thing for awhile, then I got to the part where my toon and Alistair "consummate" their love. While the video I added isn't my toon the cheesetastic awesome montage is the same one I had,   HAHAHAHAHA!!!!   After experiencing this sexy love filled montage I ripped my necklace off and threw it in the pond outside my apartment. Fifty years from now I'll revisit this site and tell the tale of Alistair and Inara.  Maybe even Celine Dion's great granddaughter will sing a ballad.

Sarcasm aside it was lame and I hate myself a bit for pushing the romance,  however I am still totally wanting to know the outcome of the main storyline and newly committed to following the douchier choices my toon has.

K so back to the beginning of the game: as soon as I had finished The Harrowing, turned Jowan's dumb ass in to Irving, met Duncan and got spanked at Ostagar; I was all Grey Warden? Why the fuck do I know that term?  First time I hit camp I was all aaahh Zero Punctuation and Penny Arcade!  LOL!

Nancy Drew and the Case of the Mysterious Boob Glitter

Tonight I went out with my friend Camicia to check out The Ormond Wine Company's Acoustic Night, The Transfers were playing. It was a fun night music was awesome, wine was decent, food was good.

At one point tonight I got a big ass smile from one of the guys in the band. It struck me as odd because while yes I am not unfortunate looking I am married and tend to give off a don't fuck with me vibe. Ok now fast forward to an hour later, we are at Camicia's mothers house hanging out, I look down and my whole not unsubstantial rack is sparkling like a drag queens thong! What. The. Fuck!?! Not now nor have I ever, ever, ever used boob glitter!! Even during my brief stint as a candy raver I kept my glitter in its appropriate places; hair, eyes and possibly arms.

So in our awesomely sober state we start trying to Nancy Drew the shit out of this mystery. At two points tonight I was exposed to glitter, first my eyeshadow has little bits of glitter in it and second Camicia's Mom Susan's  ceiling is glitter flecked. Neither of those explain it because A) the ratio to titty glitter and eye shadow doesn't match; B) Susan's ceiling did not at any point tonight fall on me. Plus she said she noticed it when I walked in. My conclusion? The magical gay glitter fairy paid me a visit! YAY!

Duh PJ Harvey

To Bring You My Love was one of my favorite albums in high school.  I used to listen to it constantly, until some asshole swiped it on me .  I'd forgotten about it until my frienemy the itunes troll put it in the genius side bar thingy.

A reminder

Today I had a serious slap in the face reminder about what it felt like to be 16 again. I posted what happened here. Those narrow minded skanks did make me think, if the same situation had happened 10 years ago I wouldn't have hesitated to throw down. However I took a page from my way less angry, greenhaired (at 17) sis BB, I rolled my eyes and just let it go. I can't count how many times this girl has stopped me with a "why do you care?" or a "why does it matter?" UGH frustrating but at the same time prison free. I have never appreciated the "Jess you are being a retard" stare more than than the exact moment before I hit an Ormond Beach Slag. Besides, Karma sucks esp when Gallo is involved!

Cougartown

Is an awesome show. When Courtney Cox was on Friends she was always funniest when she wore the fat suit during the flashback episodes, its that funny.

Super Dad and Simple Ribs for the Lazy Housewife

My husband LOVES ribs, however I HATE them! Really any sort of meat on a bone makes me gag. When I was in high school my dad spoiled me by removing all bones before any meat hit my plate, he srsly is Super Dad. I'd for real get him a cape if I wasn't scared he'd wear it in public.

Anyway, when baby back ribs go on sale I suck it up and treat my darling husband. Since we are are a one income family and live in a super tiny apartment where grilling isn't allowed, I've been able to make awesome ribs my meat and potatoes husband loves!

What I do is heat my pre-Cold War oven to 350. I then sprinkle McCormick Grill Mates Pork rub all over the ribs and rub it in nicely and bake for 30 min. Then baste with Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce; tonight it was Hickory Brown Sugar but what ever flavor/brand is handy works. Cook for another 1/2 hour and serve. Tonight I served it with fries, sometimes its stouffer's mac and cheese and frozen veggies or salad and homemade mac and cheese or some random combo of whatever I feel like.

Separating the ribs is gross so the husband does it for me. I'm sure if I drove them to Super Dad's house he'd do it too, for a small fee of a half rack and a big hug!

My New Bestest Friend EVER!!

I am sitting here watching back to back episodes of The Naughty Kitchen with Chef Blythe Beck and I love love love her...wait I HEART her! Right now I am watching the episode where the ownership of the hotel/restaurant come in and the kitchen crashed thier food was like 2 hrs coming out of the kitchen.  I remember working at craplebees, when the kitchen crashed there I wanted to drown myself in the dishpit.  Poor chef :(  I could babble about it forever but just watch it!

The vinovirgins party went ok, I'll have pics soon. BTW I am like the grandmaster at Dirty Minds!

Jews, musical genius,and itunes rage,

OMG I found the best article called Harry Potter and Judaism.  I squealed when I he compared nonjews to Muggles and Jews to the wizards.  Epic win!

From 9:00pm to 2:15am i literally sat and played with this its addictive in a super obnoxious way.  I should only be grateful it didn't sparkle or I may never have stopped. I now believe that I am a musical genius and I have plans to move to England tour with the Soho Dolls under the name Lady Yankee, and become an electro superstar.

Today before I discovered my new career I was busy making a playlist for the VinoVirgins costume party.  It got ridiculous, I ended up with ten hours of music.  I did manage to edit down to 7.5 hours /facepalm.  While I was agonizing over this oh so important task I came to one conclusion, itunes hates me. I couldn't find songs I know exist and it couldn't find bands that I totally know are not figments of my imagination.  I swear there is some creepy little troll on the other end, he takes perverse pleasure in trying to trick me into buying Paris Hilton and the Jonas Brothers albums.  I hate the itunes troll and his stupid troll briefcase.

haha I think it is sleep time.

I am currently obsessed with this video

Total cop out on a first post but srsly I watched this shit like 100 times, whilst totally ignoring the giant pile of clothes that i need to deal with
