Reflection...Fuck it!!

The end of a year is typically the time for looking back, and since this is the end of the first decade of a new century the world is currently vomitastic with resolutions and reflections. I don't know maybe I am feeling more cynical than normal but since (sorry mom) I was 17 January 1st hasn't meant anymore than a slightly worse hangover than say June 21st. There is no cosmic slate being wiped clean and Raptor Jesus isn't granting you a do over. If you are unhappy with your life in August; fucking change it in August!!

Compared to some my 2009 has been great, everyone I love is alive and healthy. My husband and I recently celebrated 10 years together and our fifth wedding anniversary; plus Jim and Pam got married! Yes, I have had some superb lows this year, most notably a hardcore betrayal from someone I've considered a best friend for 14 years; but fuck it! Things could have been worse!

Like for example when I was a teenager I went to a psychic, she told me I was going to die before I was 28. Now granted this was a Daytona Beach A1A psychic; generally not a real credible source of anything other than where to score some meth, however someone predicts your death you kinda sit up and notice. So when this September rolled around and I was still very much alive I realized things could suck worse than a horrible friend or ER being canceled. See reflection isn't reserved for Dec. 31st!

P.S. I do have one New Years Resolution: To learn when a semi colon is appropriate; I suspect I never use it correctly.

Yeeahh it's another music post!

I get bored with music super fast.  I think it may have something to do with the fact I get obsessed with something and listen to it nonstop..who knows. So I am constantly looking for something new and exciting, and by new, I mean new to me.

Thanks to Zooey Deschanel's announcement that She&Him has a new album coming out 3/23/10, I wanted pretty songs that in my own mind kinda fit with She&Him .  So my playlist ended up as:

1. She&Him  - Why do you let me stay here:

2. Rilo Kily- Breakin UP (one of the best videos I have seen):

3. Katy Perry-Black and Gold:

4. Death Cab for Cutie- Love Song:

5.Jem-Yellow:

6. Zooey Deschanel- Sugar Town (yes its better than Ms. Nancy Sinatra's version):

7. Jenny Lewis- Rabbit Fur Coat:

This next one is literally my favorite song.  Its been covered a ton but She&Him srsly do the best cover I have ever heard.  This was the first song I listened to on the Volume One album, I  loved it!

8. She&Him-You Really Got a Hold On Me:

I am totally counting down the days till the new She&Him album. Is it March yet!?!?!?

I love you all...

...but next year I absolutely REFUSE to attempt to spread the one and only thing the super darling love of my life tells me he wants for his Birthday , Christmas AND Hanukkah between 12 people.  This year its Brutal Legend for the PS3.  If you are reading this just assume someone else is getting it... Rawrg!

Granted at this point in time I have no clue what next years request will be, but just do me a god damn favor and if you didn't play an active role in either his or my birth just don't ask, give him a gift card.  Best Buy works, or even better make it a Visa/Amex gift card.

I for real love this man, and all his saltiness is; but if he answers the question "what should I tell ....to get you for hanukkah?" with "a million dollars and a hooker."  My next post will be straight from Sing Sing.
